About:

Roots pianist and vocalist Bill Malchow divides his time between the Big Apple and the Big Easy—which sounds about right, since his percolating, second-line style bubbles and boils with Fats Waller-style Harlem stride and the steaming New Orleans sounds of Dr. John, James Booker, Allen Toussaint, and Professor Longhair.

Yeah Thanks Peter! that sums it up quicker then I can. Although I'm not sure why he didn't mention my fine organ playing and attractive beard. You can find me leading bands at fine New York City establishments like the Rodeo Bar and Ear Inn. Look for "Bill Malchow and the Go Cup All Stars" in the listings...

On the Side:

Piano player Bill Malchow added a New Orleans blues feel, especially on the darker, minor-key, somewhat Tom Waits-inflected numbers, and sang in a Dr. John-style N’awlins drawl when Grace gave him a lead vocal.

I also back up several talented songwriters/bands including at one point or another The Jack Grace Band (Weirdo Country Music), Alex McMurray (New Orleans based Songwriter), Bubble (Beatles albums and original music) , Milton , Andrew Vladeck (Electric Folk), David Kolker (rock), Johanna Stahley (Soul/Rock/Pop), Jake Walker (blues), David Weinstone (Music for Aardvarks)...

What Else?

Yeah I do weddings, parties, corporate events and all. We're fun and a bit different.
